Session Overview
This three-part accredited session is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT), patterns, and key findings associated with various types of interstitial lung diseases. It will guide the audience through the intricacies of interpreting HRCT findings and the correlation with relevant clinical findings, thus equipping participants with the skills needed for accurate diagnosis. Our emphasis will be on fibrotic and non-fibrotic ILDs, with a special emphasis on challenging cases, using a case-based approach.
Experts will delve into the nuances of ILD imaging diagnosis, applying current guidelines and explore the diverse spectrum of ILD findings, emphasizing the importance of radiological-clinical correlation. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of the patterns of ILDs on HRCT and relevant imaging and clinical findings. This session will aim to dissect characteristic imaging patterns associated with fibrotic and non-fibrotic ILDs, aiding participants in refining their diagnostic skills.
Challenging cases often serve as pivotal learning opportunities. Throughout this 75-minute interactive session, attendees will tackle a curated selection of difficult cases spanning the spectrum of various interstitial lung diseases. From subtle radiological clues to complex diagnostic dilemmas, participants will engage in collaborative discussions, applying their knowledge and expertise to unravel diagnostic challenges and formulate evidence-based management strategies.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be better able to:
- Review the diagnostic criteria for fibrotic and non-fibrotic ILDs
- Recognize imaging patterns and key findings associated with both fibrotic and non-fibrotic ILDs
- Apply imaging findings of ILD to a multidisciplinary diagnosis
Needs Assessment
Target Audience
This session was developed following a review of objective data including practice data, consultation with experts in the field, survey data detailing the perceived and unperceived needs of members as well as the experience and expertise of the scientific planning committee.
This session is designed for general and subspecialty radiologists as well as radiology residents and fellows whose work involves the imaging interpretation and reporting of interstitial lung diseases.
The development of this program was supported by an unrestricted education grant from Boehringer Ingelheim and was planned to achieve scientific integrity, objectivity, and balance.
This event is an Accredited Group Learning (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program of the Royal College of Physicians ad Surgeons of Canada and approved by the Canadian Association of Radiologists. Physicians may claim a maximum of 1.25 hour.
